The Heart Of My Practice

When I began my career as a counsellor, I made a conscious decision to gain experience across a broad range of presentations. Since 2020, I have worked with hundreds of clients through thousands of hours of counselling, supporting people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, family conflict, life transitions and many other challenges.

This breadth of experience led to the creation of On The Couch Counselling in October 2025, a general counselling practice that allowed me to develop a strong foundation as both a therapist and clinical supervisor.

Throughout that time, however, two areas have remained the anchor of my work: pregnancy loss and relationship support.

Through specialist training, professional experience, along with lived experience, I have come to recognise that this is where my skills, knowledge and passion are best placed.

Today, The Quiet Cradle represents the heart of my practice, allowing me to dedicate more of my work to supporting individuals and couples navigating pregnancy loss, reproductive trauma and the relationship challenges that so often accompany these experiences.

While this specialised focus now sits at the heart of my practice, my broader counselling services have not disappeared. I continue to welcome clients seeking support for anxiety, depression, stress, grief, relationship counselling beyond pregnancy loss, and professional supervision for counsellors and helping professionals.

So, whether you're arriving here because of a recent loss, a relationship that's under strain, or another challenge entirely, I look forward to walking alongside you with warmth, compassion and evidence-based care.

Warmly, Darrell
